Rose and Coates both went to seriously different schools while growing up. Coates school taught him about having a safe place off the street to occupy during the school day teaching him literacy and life skills. On the other hand Rose is actually going to school to learn. They sit down and do worksheets and actually try to work during the school day even though it doesn’t seem to be catching on to Rose. The rules of Rose’s Catholic school are to basically just sit there and do as your told. Rose said that he was not very attentive in class and basically just learned very little. The overall teachings are fairly the same within the school. But Coates went to school to avoid crime and being injured (basically just structure during the day) while Rose is actually going for education.
